Brand Story / ZILA Bioworks

ZILA Bioworks is an early stage startup developing innovative biomaterials. Their first commercial product is Hempoxy, a patented bio-epoxy resin made from hemp. I worked with ZILA to create a mission, vision, and brand manifesto, as well as define a tone of voice for their distinct audiences.

After interviewing the founders at length, it became clear that we needed story that celebrated ZILA BioWorks’ accomplishments to date, while acknowledging that the company was still testing, growing, and developing. I discovered a common theme: ZILA BioWorks, as a brand, was building: building better systems, better products, better communities.

I focused the brand story on ZILA’s dedication to building better, more sustainable processes and bio-materials from beginning to end. It effectively communicated ZILA’s ladder-up approach: tackling problems at the micro level has the potential for macro-sized impact.
